Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about futures basics, our tools, and what we do (and don't) offer.

Common questions

Does FuturesSignal sell trading signals?

No. We're an education site. We explain how signals and strategies work, including how to evaluate people who sell signals, but we don't tell anyone what to trade.

What is a futures contract?

An agreement to buy or sell a standardized quantity of something, such as oil, gold, or a stock index, at a set price on a future date. Most traders close positions before expiration. Read the full guide.

How much money do I need to trade futures?

It depends on the contract, your broker's margin requirements, and how much you can afford to lose. Margin is only a deposit; losses can exceed it. Micro contracts have smaller margins and dollar swings.

Can I lose more than I invest?

Yes. Because futures are leveraged, a large adverse move can produce losses greater than the money in your account, and you'd owe the difference to your broker.

What are micro futures?

Smaller versions of popular contracts, often one-tenth the size of the E-mini. Learn more.

How do I check if a broker or advisor is legitimate?

Look them up in the NFA's BASIC database, which shows registration status and disciplinary history for firms and individuals in the U.S. futures industry.

Are your calculators accurate?

They use standard exchange specifications for common contracts and simple, transparent math. Specs can change, so confirm with CME Group and your broker before trading.

Is the FuturesSignal.com domain for sale?
